What a Pair of Hair Scissors Can Do For You

As the mane is a person’s crowning glory, long hair makes a woman feel feminine and glamorous. While most men love long hair, many women have long unkempt hair because they think their man will be furious if they have it cut off! Long, shiny, healthy hair is the ultimate accessory. So how do you keep that bounce and shine that never fails you all the time?

There are two possible options, one can opt for regular treatments at your local salon starting perhaps with a great hair cut executed with professional hair scissors. A great cut that fits the shape of your face could mean easy maintenance in less time and on a daily basis. Here are more tips from Glamour Girl as culled by Wendy Carpentieri.

1. Zig Zag It: In a rut? Get a new cut! Having a fresh cut makes all the difference in the world. Uncut hair is drab, heavy, and flat. I don’t prefer to get my hair cut every six to eight weeks, but I’ll go twelve weeks instead. I’ve noticed my hair grows faster this way. Look through magazines to find hair styles you like. Book an appointment with your stylist (go to someone reputable, it’s worth the extra money) and have a consultation with him/her.

Maybe consider asking for the “zig-zag” scissors, another GlamourGrrl favorite. These texturizing scissors give your hair oomph, can add body, and create a fabulous, tousled, bed-head look by adding weightless layers into your hair, especially around the face. Don’t be scared, I’ll know you’ll love the “zig-zag”.

2. Come-Hither: Don’t even think about getting short bangs right across the front of your head. Instead, get long wispy bangs that every bombshell has. You can curl them, but not too tightly, to whichever side you like, and then lightly spritz them to stay in place. MUY Caliente!

Still determined to get your hair out of the rut it has been in but regular trips to hairdressing salons are just out of the question and totally out of the budget? Why not purchase a pair of professional shears and do it yourself, with some ample tips from Emma Kelly.

All growing hair splits because when the hair becomes dry, it starts to unravel like a rope. The only thing you can do to get rid of split ends is to cut them off to prevent further damage to the hair. Many people are afraid to have this done in case their hair is cut too short. Removing split ends yourself is pretty simple to do. Hold the hair about half an inch in diameter thickness and twist between your fingers until you see the damaged ends. Snip off the split hair and other damaged hair with the tip of the scissors. If you move around your hair in this way you will remove the split ends but not cut any length off your hair.

Other treatments you can use are heat conditioning treatments. When blow drying or using hot hair straighteners or tongs and rollers always use a heat protector spray.
