Cake Bakers Needed for Barbie Cake?
When I was little, my Aunt who is now deceased, made me a cake that had an actual Barbie Doll in it. The cake itself was the skirt on her dress. Barbie was somehow placed in the middle, so only her bust, arms, and head stuck out of the top. The cake had a ton of detail as my Aunt was a Bakery Chef. I would like to attempt to make this cake for my daughters first birthday party. Now, I know I’m not supposed to “bake” Barbie in the cake, but I just can’t figure out how she was in there so perfectly without destroying the cake. Can anyone who has knowledge of cake baking or knows of this recipe please help me? I need the recipe and step by step instructions on how to do it. Thanks so much

I always use my pampered chef batter bowl meauring cup to bake the cake in. Here is a link w a pic of it. Its letter B

Or you can look for a cake pan especially made for barbie doll cakes. I bet they will have one on wilton.com
Be sure to spray the pan with an oil spray
once it has totally cooled slide the cake out and cut a little hole ontop with a sharp knife. Then its time to decorate.
I like to put my cake on a cooling grate and pour ‘poured fondant icing’ over top. Or you can spread it with buttercream and then drape a think piece of fondant over top to make it look like a flowing gown. Its easier than you think. Here is a pic.

However, if all this fondant talk scares you and you dont think you can do it just make a thick consistency buttercream frosting and pipe it on. just squeeze the pastry bag and release, squeaze-release. As if you are making polka dots. do this till you cover the whole cake. Use a star pastry tip. pic-

once the cake is decorated, slide your naked barbie into the hole you cut at the top. this hole doesnt need to go all the way through. just so you can wedge her in there up to her hips. decorate the boobies w some frosting. voila!!
